Why I Joined Cooley: Channeling the Voice of the In-House Practitioner

I’ve just joined a deep – and fun-loving – team to develop content harnessing wisdom from the hundreds of in-house counsel that Cooley talks with on a daily basis. Along with my own extensive network of in-house colleagues, our combined forces allow us to bring you The Governance Beat, a site that channels the voice of the in-house practitioner.

I’ve been dying to develop this sort of platform for quite a while. Long a fan of practical content, the guidance, tips and anecdotes we’ll be sharing should prove to be helpful to you for a variety of reasons:

  1. It truly will be practical – You know practical when you see it. Enough said.
  2. It will be right to the point – We don’t want to waste anyone’s time. So our guidance will be delivered clearly and quickly. We will spot issues raised by regulatory developments in a mere handful of bullets and then provide you with the bottom line.
  3. It will cover topics you didn’t think a legal blog would cover. We want to help you solve your biggest problems. Your biggest problems? Maybe you don’t have enough time in the day to do your job properly. Maybe you keep putting off the use of AI to help you in your job because you don’t have the time to figure it out. These are the kinds of career-aiding tips we’ll throw into the mix.

This is truly a community-based site. Your in-house voice matters. So please reach out to let us know the topics you want us to cover, as well as provide your insights and feedback on the issues we touch upon.
